Amazon has announced they have acquired Rob Delaney’s comedy series ‘Catastrophe’ for their Prime subscribers, but first you’ll have a chance to watch the premiere episode on Facebook. Amazon will host the premiere episode exclusively on its Facebook page to give everyone a chance to check it out and spread the word. The series currently airs on UK Channel 4.

Starting this Monday at 4pm you can play the pilot episode of Delaney’s Show exclusively on Facebook for 48 hours. After that on June 19th, the show will move to its new home on the Amazon Prime page.

The series came to Amazon from outside it’s usual means of choosing shows. Typically Amazon makes pilots of original series and places them free on their Prime Instant Video account and viewer watch the shows and vote for the pilots they like the best. The pilots with the most votes are then made into series shows. ‘Catastrophe’ however, is already an established show in the UK. By placing the pilot on their Facebook page they’ll be able to expose the show to a wide range of people for a series they’re already giving a chance.

‘Catastrophe’ stars Rob Delaney as an American man who finds it hard to start a relationship with a woman he impregnated. You can watch the trailer here.
