Ricky Gervais, Ron Bennington and Jim Norton Performing Private Stand Up Event Just for SiriusXM Subscribers

Finally, SiriusXM is doing for comedy what it has been doing for music- creating incredible exclusive concert events.

The satellite radio company has been putting on exclusive concerts for subscribers for years now, making music fans who couldn’t score tickets jealous and unhappy. And SiriusXM has been offering subscribers exclusive access to live interviews with series like Unmasked, Town Hall and Headliners. Now SiriusXM adds stand up performances to its roster of exclusive events– host Ricky Gervais brings the same excitement to fans of SiriusXM’s comedy channels with an exclusive private stand up performance event at New York’s Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.

Gervais will perform a special stand-up show, “Ricky Gervais and Friends: A Work In Progress,” exclusively for SiriusXM subscribers. The event will take place at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College on November 8 with the friends who are joining him on stage being SiriusXM hosts and stand up comedians Jim Norton and Ron Bennington. The intimate show will include Gervais performing a “work in progress” of material from his upcoming “SuperNature” tour, which Netflix has already picked up following the success of his “Humanity” special.

Gervais has appeared on Norton’s radio show for years, and recently spent an hour on stage with Ron Bennington at New York’s famed Village Underground club.

“Imagine sitting around playing records and talking absolute bollocks with your mates being considered work. Thank you SiriusXM,” said Gervais. “My ‘Humanity’ tour made me fall back in love with stand up. I sold out the finest arenas around the world, so I can’t wait to play a college bar to a bunch of scroungers who got in for free.”

“We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with Ricky Gervais,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SiriusXM. “Ricky’s talent for seamlessly weaving between comedy and more serious topics makes for a fascinating conversation. We’re looking forward to his return – and to his special show just for SiriusXM subscribers.”
