Phil Rosenthal Suggests Sitting Down With Isis for Some Chocolate Cake
Phil Rosenthal believes that food has the power to unite. “If those boys from ISIS would sit down and have chocolate cake with me, everything would be okay,” he told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour.
Rosenthal, who is best known as the creator of the super hit series Everybody Loves Raymond was promoting his upcoming PBS series, I’ll Have What Phil’s Having. The new series will showcase Rosenthal traveling and eating, and he hopes to inspire others to travel. “Even though it feels like a scam, this is a mission statement to get you off the couch, to come and travel,” he said. “When I wrote Raymond I was trying to connect with people. Now I’m connecting in a more direct way.”
I’ll Have What Phil’s Having premieres on PBS on September 28.
