An article was just released in the New York Times tells the story of Dora Charles, a cook in Paula Deen’s breakout restaurant, the Lady and Sons, and the apparent racism she endured while working for the Food Network star. Charles claims that Deen used racial slurs, asked one of her co-workers to dress like Aunt Jemima, and paid the black employees less than the white ones. Deen is waiting to release her next apology video until she has turned the appropriate shade of orange.
