On the Next Arrested Development….Season 5, Part Two….

Arrested Development

Arrested Development
Clues will be found. Fake businesses will be sold. Secrets will be revealed.
The new season, half season, continuation of a season, whatever you want to call it comes exclusively to Netflix March 15. In the second half of Arrested Development’s fifth season, pressures mount on the Bluth family as Buster heads toward a murder trial. The Bluth company is on the hook to build a ’smart’ border wall that puts them in debt and risks exposing a software hoax perpetrated by George-Michael. Soon the gay mafia is involved and it appears that even Michael can’t save the family this time. And Tobias becomes a Golden Girl.
In the new trailer released on Thursday, Buster loses a hand (again), Gob has an announcement, someone comes home from prison, while someone else is on their way in. David Cross cross dresses. Gene Parmesan is back. Lucille has a new baby who is- no surprise- a baby. There are new developments for Face Block. And nobody is telling Michael anything.
If you’re a confirmed lifelong fan of Arrested Development all of this will make sense to you. If you’re not, there’s no sense in trying to explain anything, none of it will make sense just go to Netflix and start at the beginning. Even lifelong fans have to go back before they can go forward because while its all unforgettable its also very very hard to remember where things left off.
But, in case you don’t have the time to go back, you’ll remember season four consisted of largely separate storylines since everyone in the cast had a career surge in the 10 year hiatus after season three ended. That experiment proved to be fun but ultimately unsatisfying so in season five that all went away. A mystery was at the center of the first eight episodes of season five when Lucille Austero disappeared in the very middle of running for Congress. Michael and George Michael were dating the same woman, Lindsay runs for Congress, Tobias becomes Lucille’s therapist, Buster goes into hiding and is ultimately arrested, there’s a trip to Mexico, and things too weird to write about. It all ends with photographic evidence, a cementing, a failed business venture, a failed campaign, and an escape.
Season Five Part Two, March 15. On Netflix.
