The Oath Trailer Shows Just How F*cked Up Thanksgiving Dinner Could Get

A comedy movie about the lives of most people in America right now– just amped up a teeensy weensy bit. Written and directed by Ike Barinholtz the oath stars Ike and Tiffany Haddish as Americans living in a world where the White House does something bananas, and shows the family fallout that follows in a dark dark comedy. Sounds like your life right?

In The Oath, a high strung 24-hour progressive news junkie, and his more levelheaded wife learn that citizens are being asked to sign a loyalty oath to the President. Their reaction is disbelief, followed by idealistic refusal, followed by infighting with family members, friends and the government. A gleefully wicked reinvention of the traditional holiday comedy for our divisive political times.

In the trailer watch Ike call his family Nazi’s and the “m” word flies around the table faster than fresh baked biscuits.

The Oath stars Ike Barinholtz, Tiffany Haddish, John Cho, Carrie Brownstein, Billy Magnussen, Meredith Hagner, Jon Barinholtz, Nora Dunn, and Chris Ellis, and hits theaters October 12.
