NYPD Lights Up a Dog(Warning: Graphic)

Below is video of two NYPD officers caught on video shooting a pitbull that was aggressivley approaching them. Right before the dog was shot, it looks like it tried to bite a woman who was standing on the sidewalk. The dog belonged to the passed out man next to the hydrant. Oddly enough he didn’t wake up even after the guns were fired. The dog is still alive at the Animal Control and Care facility on East 110th street in New York. Were the cops justified in shooting the dog?
