NYC’s Homeless Population Explodes
An of average 50,000 people slept in homeless shelters every night last month in New York City. That’s the most since the Great Depression. 78% of the people in shelters are comprised of families, which is a number 73% higher than before Bloomberg took office. Mayor Bloomberg’s response to these numbers?
“The Coalition [for] the Homeless is not a reputable organization.”
The Department of of Homeless services also states that the economy isn’t helping anything. At least they’re looking for a reason besides “everyone is lying”.
