The 3rd annual NYC Podfest is returning to the city to celebrate the world of New York podcasting. NYC Podfest features comedy podcasts, as well as shows covering Broadway, film and television. Jeremy Wein, founder and co-Producer of NYC PodFest, came up with the idea of an annual gathering of podcasters after attending the many New York City stand up, improv and sketch festivals. He felt podcasting was being overlooked and started his festival in 2013.
One of the podcasts participating in NYC Podfest this year, is RISK! hosted by Kevin Allison featuring comedians telling true stories they thought they would never tell in public with guests Sasheer Zamata, Matt Braunger, AJ Jacobs, Jackie Kashian and Eddie Brill. The show theme for the evening will be “butts”. Risk! is Friday, January 9th at 8 pm at the Bell House.
Also participating– The Flophouse podcast where Dan McCoy, Elliott Kalan and Stuart Wellington will review and tear apart the 2014 version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Cheap Date at 6 pm hosted by Sharron Paul and Calvin Cole with guests Matt Braunger, Mark Normand, Adam Newman; The Daily Show Podcast without Jon Stewart hosted by new Daily Show correspondent Hasan Minhaj and executive producer Adam Lowitt, Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast in person with very special guest, Susie Essman and The Todd Barry Podcast with guests Yo La Tengo and Wyatt Cenac.
