MMA fans have something new to look forward this week. Luis J. Gomez will premiere a brand new comedy themed MMA show on SiriusXM staring Monday June 29th. The two hour show titled “Below the Belt,” will air at 8pm EST.
Co-host Kris Tinkle will be on board with Gomez to discuss all things MMA and pop culture on the show which will also include special guests from both worlds of stand up comedy and mixed martial arts.”The show will be a humorous take on the world of mixed martial arts,” Gomez says. “We will be bringing in comics and fighters for a round table discussion on MMA news and pop culture. No interviews. Just a fun free flowing conversation.” Gomez also promises a podcasting feel, less structured than some of the shows he’s hosted in the past.
Gomez is the former co-host “TapouT Radio” on SiriusXM’s Sports Zone 92, still fills in for “Fight Club” on the same channel and has written about comedy and MMA for the IBang. He’s also one third of the popular podcast “Legion of Skanks” which airs on the Anthony Cumia Network. Both Gomez and Tinkle co-host the “Hammerfisting” podcast on the Riotcast Network, and both peform stand up regularly.
