Netflix has announced the release dates of its first four feature films. The move is a significant step for the streaming service in its push to continue to develop original, innovative content.
On December 11, they will release Adam Sandler’s comedy The Ridiculous Six. This film is the first of a four picture run that Sandler is making exclusively for Netflix. Ridiculous Six stars Sandler, Terry Crews, Rob Schneider, Luke Wilson, Nick Nolte, Jorge Garcia, and Taylor Lautner. The film will be released exclusively for Netflix members, which means strictly streaming. The Ridiculous Six, a Happy Madison Production, is a comedic, western ensemble.
An exact date has not been released yet for the highly anticipated Paul Reubens-Judd Apatow collaboration, but fans can expect to see the newest addition to the Pee Wee Herman franchise in March of 2016. Paul Reubens reprises his famous character for Pee Wee’s Big Holiday, which he also wrote along with Paul Rust.In Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday. Judd Apatow and Paul Reubens, worked together to bring the project to fruition and produced the film.
Netflix also announced the release of Beasts of A Nation (oOctober 16), and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend which will stream on Netflix and be released in IMAX theaters in early 2016.
