A New York college student loves his “Broad City” shirt more than he loves airline regulations. Daniel Podolsky was on a Southwest Airlines flight from Dallas to Chicago when his plane had to unexpectantly land in St. Louis because of bad weather in Chicago. He was not allowed to reboard the later flight because of his shirt which read “Broad Fucking City”. The shirt was some swag he got at SXSW from Comedy Central to promote the show starring Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer.

Airline security asked him to remove, cover or turn the t-shirt inside out. Podolsky refused and was off the plane. There’s different stories regarding what happened. The interesting part is that they both come from Podolsky. He told FOX 2 in St. Louis that he never had a chance to cover the shirt and he was off the plane in 30 seconds. The other side is from the video that Podolsky shot of the confrontation where he’s given several options to travel while wearing the shirt.

Southwest Airlines is standing by their employees while Broad City’s Ilana Glazer is standing by her fan. She tweeted out her support for Daniel Podolsky.

Here’s a look at the “Broad City” shirt in gray. It also comes in blue and is currently on sale for $13.99 at CC.com
