On Friday night, Bill Maher did back to back live shows on HBO in Washington DC. He started at 9 pm et hosting a live episode of “Real Time” with special guests Jerry Seinfeld and Nancy Pelosi from Sidney Harman Hall. Then Maher changed clothes and traveled 6 blocks to the Warner Theatre for his live stand up special, “Bill Maher: Live From D.C.”.

Traveling that distance in the nation’s capital can take some time. Maher brought in two friends to cover the transition between gigs and do commentary on his progress. ESPN’s Keith Olbermann and director Michael Moore put on their 1970s gold sportscaster jackets and did the play-by-play.

Things started out well enough with a police motorcade taking Maher to the Warner. There was speculation that was thanks to Maher’s large donation to President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. Unfortunately, even the best travel plans can come undone when traffic is stopped due to a boy scout helping a little old lady across the street and the headliner has to run the rest of the way.

Watch as the team of Olbermann and Moore cover it all in a video found on Mediaite.
