Hey Now! It’s The Musical Performances Of The Larry Sanders Show


If you never got to see The Larry Sanders Show, it’s time to get a box set and start watching. A fictional show about a talk show with a fictional hosts and real guests- it was a brilliant send up of the late night genre, while also being great late night show. And you got to see their version of what happens behind the scenes of a real late night talk show. Starring the immensely talented Gary Shandling as the host and Jeffrey Tambor as the sidekick, the show aired on HBO. They had the best guest list in town, including some of the best musical talent of any late night show during his run from 1992 to 1998. Watch the magic happen as musicians get integrated into a fictional TV show in our tribute to the musical guests of The Larry Sanders Show.

Elvis Costello performs Little Atoms on the premier episode of Season 5 of The Larry Sanders Show. This almost makes up for the car Hank got off Elvis.
Warren Zevon
In season two of The Larry Sander show, we get The French Inhaler and Werewolves of London. Unfortunately his gets John Ritter bumped.
Chris Isaak
Isaak performers “Graduation Day” on this fourth season episode of Larry Sanders. plus we get a cameo from Colin Quinn so everyone wins.
Colin Hay
Colin Way performs “Cant Take This Town” on a sixth season episode. Larry proves his interviewing skills by talking to a man with a lazy eye, which some sort of award should be made for.
Butthole Surfers
The Butthole Surfers bust out “Ulcer Breakout” for Larry in the fifth season. If this doesn’t make you nostalgic for 90’s rock, or Great White, nothing will.
Wu Tang

Their soundcheck for The Larry Sanders show was as professional as any of their live gigs. The Clan performs “And Justice For All” in this season six episode and standards and practices aren’t happy about it at all.
