Kristen Wiig Movie Yanks Georgia From Its Location List

That new comedy movie coming from the team behind this smash hit Bridesmaids movie says it will not shoot in Georgia because of the the state’s outrageous position on abortion.

The new comedy from Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo titled “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar” has pulled out of a decision to shoot in Georgia after the state Governor signed the “heartbeat” bill into law. Wiig has been co-writing the new comedy and will co-star.

An Amazon drama that had planned to shoot in Georgia has also pulled out of the state hoping to challenge the law. Although these are the first two projects to officially leave the state dozens of Hollywood performers and industry players have pledged they will not take on any projects in the state, but stopped short of breaching contracts that are currently shooting in the state. Michael Ian Black, Alec Baldwin, Christina Applegate, Don Cheadle, Laverne Cox, David Cross, John Cryer, Tim Heidecker, Rosie O’Donnell, Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Alia Shawkat, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, Nick Thune, David Wain, Ben Stiller, Mark Duplass, Jordan Peele and JJ Abrams have all vocally opposed the state’s new law.
