Key & Peele Doing First Movie Together
They’ve been in films individually, but now they’re doing a movie together. Key & Peele’s Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are set to star in the new movie “Keanu”. In the comedy, “Keanu” is a cat and not that cat from the Matrix movies.
According to Deadline, the upcoming Key & Peele movie is about a cat that’s been kidnapped and Key & Peele star as friends who pose as drug dealers to infiltrate the criminal underworld, all to retrieve a stolen pet. The movie is produced by New Line, which in talks with Peter Atencio to direct. He’s the director of Key & Peele episodes on Comedy Central.
Talking about the movie, Jordan Peele said, “None of our Key & Peele characters will be harmed in the making of this film”. Other film projects the comedy team involved with include a Police Academy reboot, an untitled Judd Apatow feature and a spinoff of Mr. Garvey, aka Substitute Teacher, about a character from the Key & Peele show.
