Kevin Hart is ready to bring live stand up comedy to the audio book market.
While there probably isn’t much difference substantively between an album and a stand up audiobook, the new format could bring more access to different audiences.
Simon & Schuster Audio is teaming with Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud comedy brand to release the debut audiobook title: Laugh Out Loud Presents Comedy in Color, Volume 1, Hosted by Lil Rel.
Recorded in Montreal at the Just for Laughs Festival, the audiobook contains stand up sets from 10 shows hosted by comedy star Lil Rel who also shares his own original material and personal stories from his experiences at JFL. 40 comics are on the lineup which covers all colors of comedians including Tone Bell, Nate Bargatze, Joel Kim Booster, Sophie Buddle, Ronny Chieng, Vir Das, Tim Dillon, Chris Distefano, Naomi Ekperigin, Rachel Feinstein, David Gborie, Godfrey, Josh Johnson, Michael Kosta, Mike Lawrence, Ismael Loutfi, Ms. Pat, Mark Normand, Jessimae Peluso, Jordan Rock, Aida Rodriguez, Beth Stelling, Sarah Tiana, Jesus Trejo, Gina Yashere and more.
