Kathryn Hahn To Star Opposite Steve Coogan in Happyish
Showtime announced that Kathryn Hahn from “Crossing Jordan”, “Revolutionary Road” and “We’re The Millers” has been cast as the female lead in the network’s new comedy series, “Happyish”.
“Happyish” is the story about the search for happiness and how exhausting that search can be. And it asks the question, is the pursuit of happiness the thing that’s making everyone unhappy?
The series starts shooting in New York in December and stars Steve Coogan as Thom Payne the man whose happiness is in question. Kathryn Hahn will play his wife Lee and mother to their son, Julius. Coogan was cast in the role originally intended for the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
“Happyish” creator, writer and executive producer Shalom Auslander talked about the character and casting Kathryn Hahn for the job. He said, “Lee is fierce while funny, defiant while vulnerable; no one can pull that off as deftly, subtly and sincerely as Kathryn Hahn. We’re very lucky to have her. We meaning Earth.”
“Happyish” will premiere on Showtime next year.
