Kate McKinnon Brings Back Mrs. Santini on Weekend Update
It’s tough to stand out on an episode of Saturday Night Live when you have America’s fastest rising comedian Amy Schumer hosting, but one of our favorite moments of Saturday Night Live last night went to another funny woman. Kate McKinnon killed on Weekend Update as Mrs. Frida Santini, a woman from Colin Jost’s apartment. This his Mrs. Santini’s second appearance on Saturday Night Live. The always quirky McKinnon debuted the character last January when Kevin Hart was hosting. Santini is silly and odd, and laugh out loud funny.
Mrs. Santini has some problems in her overcrowded New York apartment building. But she doesn’t like to complain, so she writes nice notes like this one.
“Dear Parents of Damien. I so sorry you baby is a car alarm. This must be very hard for you, but for me, it’s nice. How does your baby know my favorite song. It goes like this (crying noises). This song was originally recorded by Britany Spears when someone was putting her feets first into a wood chipper. And you baby, you baby sing this song every second. So I recorded a lullaby for you baby. It goes like this. Be quiet! I gonna throw you out the window! Thank you for keeping me up all night so I sleep through my job the next day.”
