Just for Laughs is Back and Celebrating 40 Years With a Giant Lineup

 

We already knew that Kevin Hart and Bill Burr would be the cornerstones of a big post-pandemic welcome back Just for Laughs Festival in 2022, and now we know a lot more about who will be this year’s massive comedy event. John Mulaney, Hasan Minhaj, power couple Jo Koy and Chelsea Handler, Russell Peters, Hannah Gadsby, Neal Brennan, Marc Maron, Patton Oswalt, Ronny Chieng and so many more comedy phenoms will head to Montreal this July along with scores more to perform and celebrate 40 years of introducing great comedy to the world.

“We are overjoyed to be able to bring the preeminent Just For Laughs Festival back to Montréal this summer, for a historic milestone festival” shares President of Just For Laughs, Bruce Hills. “We share in the world’s heaviness right now, and as leaders in the comedy industry, we are hopeful that we can provide some much-needed levity and premium quality laughter for all audiences, industry and artists planning to gather in Montréal this July.”

Eight galas will be helmed by Jo Koy, Chelsea Handler, Iliza Shlesinger, Russell Peters, Hannah Gadsby, Ronny Chieng, Patton Oswalt, and Marc Maron. Six huge theater shows have been announced. John Mulaney, Hasan Minhaj, Tommy Tiernan, Celeste Barber, Vir Das and Neal Brennan are all bringing their latest tours to Montreal for the festival.

In the club shows, much more to come, but the fest has made some announcements regarding its anchor club shows. The Nasty Show will be hosted by Big Jay Oakerson, and The Ethnic Show is being renamed Just For the Culture. Alonzo Boden is going to host the series of shows which will feature Dave Merheje, Paul Rabliauskas, Debra DiGiovanni, Jessica Kirson, Sheng Wang and Yannis Pappas.
