Jim Jefferies has a new special coming out, called Freedumb. He’s done 5 specials in America in the last seven years, and this is his second on Netflix and if his past specials are any indication, this one’s going to be amazing.

If you follow late night at all, then you know most clips released from the shows are about 2 to 3 minutes tops.  Jim Jefferies clip from Jimmy Kimmel Live last night is almost 11 minutes long, and for a good reason. There isn’t a minute of this you won’t want to listen to. It’s like getting a bonus 10 minutes added on to his upcoming special.

Jefferies talked about his weight tracking app and shared what some might consider TMI about his weight fluctuations. Jefferies says he tracks his weight every day and if you look at the chart on the app you can figure out some key moments- like when he was on tour (weight goes up) and when he recorded his special (a brief nosedive).  Before each special, Jefferies says he loses 20 pounds rapidly and gains the weight back right after. “Which is a stupid idea because then after I air the special people come and see me live and I walk out on stage and they’re so disappointed. What I should do is get super fat for the special and then slim down afterwards and say ‘oh, he’s doing good again’.”

As far as late night clips go, that’s pretty good.  Funny, charming, just a little bit revealing.  But that had nothing on the story he told next, about getting booked to perform at a private birthday party for 30 celebrities including Eddie Murphy, Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Pacino, and Warren Beatty. He won’t reveal whose party it was- in fact he signed a contract saying he wouldn’t disclose that info, but we do know it was in Hollywood, and was the kind of house with floors so nice that your guests– even super VIP guests like Eddie, Leo, Al and Warren– all take off their shoes, and that meant Jim had to perform in his bare feet.  The “show” took place in a garden, with no microphone, but Jefferies is a pro and pulls it off even though Jefferies says the only difference between a drunk guy and a comedian is a microphone.

Jefferies explained that he got to meet some of the celebs and spent a good deal of time with Al Pacino and Warren Beatty. He told the story doing an impression of Pacino. Rather than give everything away, you should watch the clip below, but here are some highlights to convince you that you should spend 10 minutes today watching the clip.

Pacino summed up Jim Jefferies:  “You tell a story, I think your story is about to end…like it’s withering away, and then you come back to the story. It’s very good.”

Then Pacino compared Jim to someone who is nothing like him.

Al told Jefferies not to act, because “acting’s for idiots like me and him (pointing at Warren Beatty). “

The night ended with Jim and Al on a golf cart.

After Warren Beatty told him that he wanted to stay in touch, Jim tried to stay in touch.
