Jim Gaffigan’s next movie is coming to theaters on June 14th, and has had a changed its name to “Being Frank.”
Previously named “You Can Choose Your Family,” the movie takes place in 1992 as Grunge music is becoming mainstream. Phillip is a middle American teenager who longs to leave his small town for music school in The Big Apple. But overbearing father, Frank, played by Jim Gaffigan, forbids it. Phillip decides to sneak away for a wild spring break, but en route, passes through a charming lake community where he spots his father living a second life, with an entire other family. With this new heartbreaking information Philip realizes he can wallow in his father’s deceit or take matters into his own hands.
The film is directed by Miranda Bailey.
