Jim Gaffigan Recovering After Emergency Appendix Removal in Alaska; Still Plans to Attend State Fair
Tony Bennett left his heart in San Francisco, but Jim Gaffigan left his appendix in Alaska. Gaffigan went home with an unexpected souvenir after heading up to the great white north to perform at the Alaska State Fair- an appendectomy scar.
He underwent an emergency appendectomy at Anchorage Providence Hospital earlier this week and then ‘Grammed about it. “If you have plans to get emergency abdominal surgery I highly recommend Alaska,” he wrote. Gaffigan still plans to perform at the fair this Sunday, at least that was his plan as of Thursday when he first posted the news. Tickets are still on sale so it looks like it’s a go.
Earlier in the week Gaffigan posted an IG video of his kids enjoying what appeared to be a gorgeous lake house with stunning vistas.
Gaffigan has spent plenty of time in hospitals, he just released his sixth special in which he talks at length about being in hospitals while his wife Jeannie recovered from brain surgery.
