Jerrod Carmichael Finds Leading Lady For His NBC Pilot
NBC is moving forward with a pilot project with Jerrod Carmichael and is making major casting announcements. Amber West has been cast in the new NBC pilot co-written by Carmichael. She was last seen in this past Summer’s comedy hit “22 Jump Street”.
According to Deadline, the new sitcom which is also co-written by Nick Stoller (Get Him To The Greek, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Neighbors), is based on Jerrod Carmichael’s stand up act. He and Amber will play a couple, Jerrod and Maxine, who are dealing with family and relationship issues. In the pilot, the two move in together, but Jerrod’s problem with telling his mom and dad about their living arrangement gets in the way. He goes to all lengths not to have that conversation with his parents.
Nick Stoller and Jerrod Carmichael last worked together when Nick directed him on the Seth Rogen comedy “Neighbors” which was released in May.
