IRS Paid Identity Thieves $4 Billion
People using stolen identities to get tax refunds cost the IRS a total of $4 Billion with hundreds of returns going to single addresses in Lithuania and Shanghai. Thieves use SS numbers of young people who don’t file to submit phony returns which are returned by the IRS quickly. Is a crime really worth it if you have to fill out that much paperwork?
