Hunts Point: The Bronx’s Open Air Museum.

New York is famous for many things.  There’s bagels, pizza, Broadway, Central Park, fashion,  and of course all kinds of great art.  One form of art that you’ll find throughout the city is graffiti.  It can be destructive in some of its forms, beautiful and expressive in others.  In December we featured a pictorial of one of the lasts true homes of great graffiti– 5 Pointz in Long Island City in New York.  More recently we visited another home of this art form, Hunts Point in the Bronx.

Hunts Point is more than graffiti– it’s really an open air museum of spectactular murals, mostly created by Tats Cru, one of the city’s best known graffiti teams. If you’re interested in visiting the Hunts Point graffiti walk, check out this award winning audio tour to this cultural-rich neighborhood put together by the artists themselves, you can read more about it here as well.

Hope you enjoy the images.
