We got about 36 pounds of plutonium left in our stockpile. That’s going to last us about another 10 years, after that it sounds like we’re shit out of luck. Plutonium powers most of NASA’s deep space projects and due to the shortage, many future missions have been scrapped. What we need is a Cold War 2 to ramp up the plutonium production.
