Hollywood Bailing On Comedy?
Fewer Americans are going to the movies on a regular basis, but it’s a totally different story in other parts of the world, where new economies are emerging. The cinema business is booming in these countries. The Atlantic reports that the world’s new love for Hollywood films does not extend to comedies, or at least not as much as its love of action movies and animated films. Now the studios are refusing to make as many comedies. Comedy has become the least profitable genre for the studios.
It’s all about about the world wide box office and jokes don’t travel as well as a truck that turns into a robot and then blows shit up.
