Middle aged white Americans are killing themselves at an increasingly large rate since 1999. The numbers have jumped from 15.9% per 100,000 to 22.3% in 2010.
Suicides have increased most in the western states and suicide by hanging has overtaken drug overdoses. Killing yourself with a gun is still number one. Go, America.
