Hannibal Buress Hangs Up On Interview Asking About Bill Cosby

Buress-on-the-Steps

Hannibal Buress doesn’t want to talk about Bill Cosby with the media anymore. The comedian who is widely credited for bringing the sexual assault allegations against Cosby into a national spotlight, wants to change the subject. He recently hung up on an interview promoting his upcoming Bethlehem Event Center gig with the Morning Call which covers news and events in the Eastern Pennsylvania towns of Bethlehem, Allentown and Easton, because Bill Cosby was a topic the interviewer wanted to keep discussing.

Hannibal told the Morning Call, “Um, let’s keep it moving. I’m burned out on it, man, so let’s talk about something else.” Even though the topic was never labeled off-limits, Hannibal had enough and hung up two minutes into it. A publicist for Hannibal sent an email saying, “he was just frustrated because there are so many other things that he has going on to talk about,” adding he, “felt like he addressed it and wanted to move on.”

Hannibal probably wouldn’t have had time to get to the other stuff he has going on since there’s so much. He’s a regular on Comedy Central’s “Broad City” which is in its second season and renewed for a third, plus Hannibal is in his third season of “The Eric Andre Show” on Adult Swim. And Hannibal’s film career has gotten busy. He’s in the new comedy “Daddy’s Home” starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg due out this year and he’s currently in production on two animated features, “Angry Birds – The Movie” and “The Secret Life of Pets” which stars the voices of Kevin Hart, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Albert Brooks, Louis C.K. and Bobby Moynihan among others.

A place where Hannibal Buress is still talking about Bill Cosby, is on stage. At his show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, he said to the audience, C’mon, chill out — pull back on me a little bit, media. They acted like I was a detective on the case. Like I found a Coogi sweater with roofie dust on it or something.” He also made jokes about Cosby hiring people to kill him.

Hannibal Buress is on tour. He’ll be at the Grand Opera House this Thursday in Wilmington, Delaware. On Friday, he’s at the Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and on Saturday, it’s the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey.
