Hannah Gadsby is Bringing Douglas to Netflix
Here’s a no brainer. Netflix has picked up Hannah Gadsby’s next special. The new hour, currently touring under the name Douglas, will air on the streaming platform in 2020.
The new show has some follow up on on Nanette, exploring reactions to that hour before diving into new material. A recent Autism diagnosis is the lead in to what is being described as a powerful hour about language and the impact of words.
Douglas is her dog.
Hannah just kicked off her US Tour in San Francisco a few weeks ago and she’ll be in New York City for three weeks with the new show. Prior to coming to the US she debuted the show in Australia.
Monday night, Gadsby announced the decision to stay on board with Netflix looking toward a 2020 release.
“I’m really enjoying touring with the live performance, but there will be places in the world that I won’t be able to visit, so it’s wonderful that Netflix will bring the show to every corner of the globe.”
