Show: Faizon Love
Venue: Gotham Comedy Club
Location:
208 W. 23rd Street NYC
Time: 8pm and 10pm
Description of Show and Lineup:

Faizon Love grew up as a military brat; raised in San Diego and Newark, NJ.  He got his start as a stand-up comedian and made his acting debut Off-Broadway both at the age of nineteen. He’s appeared on Def Comedy Jam, Shaq’s All Star Comedy Jam and Martin Lawrence’s 1’st Amendment Comedy.

In his motion picture debut Bebe’s Kids, Faizon provided a dead on vocal impression of legendary comedian Robin Harris, who died before production began on this animated cult classic. That later led to a role in The Meteor Man starring Robert Townsend who then cast Love in a co-starring role on his sitcom The Parent ‘Hood.

Faizons breakout performance, however, was as Big Worm in the 1995 hit film Friday (Ice Cube, Chris Tucker). Follow up films include Elf (Will Ferrell), Money Talks (Chris Tucker), Blue Crush, Tourque (Ice Cube, Laurence Fishburne), The Perfect Holiday (Charlie Murphy, Katt Williams), Big Mommas (Martin Lawrence), and Couples Retreat (Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau). Evidencing his strong music ties, he’s also appeared in Hip Hop driven films such as Idlewild (Outkast), and Who’s Your Caddy (Terry Crews, Sherri Shepherd) as well as guested on Ludacris’ Freaky Thangs from the album Word of Mouf.

In 2012, Love began appearing in a series of commercials for the prepaid wireless provider Boost Mobile, promoting its new 4G phones.

His voice over roles include the voices of “Bruce The Bear” in Zookeeper and “Sweet” in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. TV appearances include Black-Ish, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, That’s So Raven, Real Husbands of Hollywood and The New Edition Story.
In 2018 Faizon ushers in the digital age, starring in YOUTUBE RED’S first, original scripted series Step Up: Highwater

This nostalgic journey utilizes audio, visual and on-stage competitions given to them by their on air producer, Jeremy Balon and typically features disgruntled guests vowing to unseat our very own TV brothers.
