Get a Peek at HBO’s New Black Lady Sketch Show

Fresh off the premature end of BET late-night show The Rundown with Robin Thede comes something big and bad on HBO.

A Black Lady Sketch Show is Robin Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis and Quinta Brunson doing sketch like you’ve never seen before. Looking way more cinematic than tv/stage as sketch shows typically do, HBO describes the new venture as a narrative series set in a limitless magical reality full of dynamic, hilarious characters and celebrity guests. So it’s a narrative that breaks out into sketch the way a musical breaks out into song? Maybe. It’s hard to decipher from the the series trailer but the clip reveals that the celebrity guests pack major black lady star power in addition to the core cast. Like Gina Torres, Loretta Divine, Yvonne Orji, Patti Labelle, Lena Waith, Angela Basset, Issa Rae, Yvette Nicole Brown and Laverne Cox for starters.

The series is EP’ed by Robin Thede and Issa Rae as well as Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry Tony Hernandez and Brooke Posch.

The ONLY trailer that answers the question “what is a Flintstone dick?”
