“Galaxy Quest: The Series” In The Works

The spaceship NSEA Protector could be flying into adventure again. Paramount Television is working on a new series based on the cult sci-fi comedy film, “Galaxy Quest”. The original 1999 comedy featured the cast of a cancelled “Star Trek” style science fiction show who find themselves actually going into space to save some aliens who thought the show was real.
The film version of “Galaxy Quest” starred Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, Sam Rockwell, Daryl Mitchell and Enrico Colantoni. The movie also introduced a 21 year old Justin Long in his first feature film. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new TV series will be written by the man who wrote the movie, Robert Gordon who will also executive produce along with Galaxy Quest’s original director, Dean Parisot. No casting has been announced yet.
Paramount hopes to go into production on the series soon or else “By Grabthar’s hammer, by the suns of Worvan, you shall be avenged.”
