Denis Leary is returning to television two years after his series “Rescue Me” ended and he’s coming back to FX.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the cable network has picked up “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll” created by and starring Leary. The series is about a middle-aged rocker named Johnny Rock who could have had it all in the 90s if it wasn’t for his problems with alcohol, coke, weed, pills, cough medicine, etc. His band broke up the same day their first album came out. That could have something to do with Johnny sleeping with his guitar player Flash’s wife as well as his bass player’s fiancee. Now Johnny is trying to put the band back together.

Along with Leary, “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll” stars John Corbett, Elizabeth Gillies, Elaine Hendrix and Bobby Kelly co-starring as Bam Bam. The series will premiere in 2015 on FX with a 10 episode run. FX president of original programming Eric Schrier said “Johnny Rock is the role that Denis Leary was born to play.”

Denis Leary talked about being thrilled to return to FX – “They have a great platform for comedy, an award-winning marketing team and an amazing new Nespresso machine in the conference room. The Gran Maestria C520 Platinum? Get this: it heats the cup!”

After the debut of “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll”, this will give Leary two comedies on television. He’s also the executive producer of “Sirens” on USA Network.
