It’s come out that Maureen O’Connor, former mayor of San Diego, has gambled away an estimated $1 billion dollars over the last 8 years. She also took $2 million dollars from a non profit organization to help feed her habit. O’Connor is now in court facing money laundering charges. Her defense? A brain tumor caused her to make bad decisions. She apparently made a billion in winnings, but posted higher losses. Have to wonder if all the whale suites were worth it?
