Fast Food Familes Cost Taxpayers $7 Billion Per Year
Fast food workers were denied a raise from the $7.25 they make now, but it looks like those companies would rather just have everyone else pay to make up for those wages. Taxpayers payed an average of $7 billion per year towards public assistance programs for families of fast-food workers, and 52% of those families rely on those programs. Maybe they wouldn’t need those programs if they just ate off the dollar menu like McDonald’s suggests!
