Fanboys Call SNL Opening “Greatest of All Time”

Bobby Moynihan and Taran Killam Ask “Will You Play Batman Michael Keaton?”
Michael Keaton hosted Saturday Night Live for his third time this weekend. When an SNL host has created iconic movie roles like Keaton has, he can’t expect them to go unmentioned on the show. And Michael Keaton’s film characters got really mentioned. Keaton’s monologue turned into a musical tribute to his movie career with Taran Killam and Bobby Moynihan leading the way.
Will you play Batman Michael Keaton? How about some Beetlejuice? Mr. Mom? At least Gung Ho? No? Just a little Johnny Dangerously?
Fanboys will be fanboys. So when Keaton says no, they do it without him.
Moynihan and Killam created their own digitally crafted Batman adventure dressed as the Penquin and the Joker, Delia Deetz and Otho. And some vee-e-e-e-ery high tech digital effects to get Michael Keaton on board. Of course by vee-e-e-e-ery we mean not. In fact, its the lowest tech possible.
If you wait for it, fanboys, you will get your line. That’s all you wanted anyway.
Fans that reach that same level of Keaton-Love that Taran Killam and Bobby Moynihan have, tweeted that Saturday night’s monologue could very well be the greatest monologue in the 40 year history of SNL.
The @nbcsnl @MichaelKeaton @bibbymoynihan @TaranKillam monologue was BRILLIANT!!! So hilarious. Thanks SNL, one of the best in 40 years!
