Factory Farms As Seen From Space
British artist Mishka Henner was originally looking at aerial photographs of oil fields when he came across images of factory beef farms across Texas. He stitched together the images into larger, high-resolution prints for his “Feedlots” exhibit, which was on display in Liverpool earlier this year. The photos show massive pools of waste and chemicals that not only are within yards of the livestock, but could also infiltrate the groundwater.
Because the images are open-source satellite photos, Henner and his pieces are not subject to Ag-Gag laws.
