Eric Andre Crashes Info Wars Rally
Only one day of the Republican National Convention has gone down so far and the event has already turned into a circus. Comedian Eric Andre (The Eric Andre Show) caused a bit of a scene on Monday as he crashed a rally held by internet talk show host and avid conspiracy theorist Alex Jones of the website Info Wars.
Andre showed up to the rally in a full suit, wielding what appeared to be a piece of PVC pipe with a microphone attached to it like the intrepid journalist that he is. He demanded to have an interview with Jones, saying that he was exercising his first amendment right to freedom of speech in what was clearly an attempt to cater to the throngs of people toting “Don’t Tread on Me” flags. After some yelling, Jones says “Let’s bring The Daily Show guy up here, let’s bring the agitator up here,” only one of which is true. Andre is then shoved up to the stage by two very angry looking fellows.
Andre gets his moment in Jones’ spotlight before being ushered off the stage and escorted out of the rally by security. The clip is short, but is classic Andre in its absurdity and silliness. Check out the full clip below:
