Episodes of HBO Comedies Will Stream on Facebook
Facebook & HBO Team Up For Streaming Experiment
HBO is looking to expand their online audience. So, they turned to Facebook.
The social media giant is streaming the first two episodes of both Ballers, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and The Brink, starring Tim Robbins.
HBO will stream the first two Ballers episodes on Johnson’s Facebook fan page. The move is wise, considering Johnson’s massive online following. He has 49 million Facebook fans, nearly 9 million Twitter followers, and over 18 million followers on Instagram.
The Brink, meanwhile, has its own Facebook page that will be streaming the first two episodes.
You can’t expect to catch the whole series without an HBO subscription, however. After the first two episodes of these shows are streamed on Facebook, all future episodes of the series will be available on HBO GO, the online streaming service that HBO developed to compete with Netflix.
