Elvis Costello and The Roots Recorded “A Brilliant Album”

Elvis Costello had such a great time playing with the Roots during his appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon that the collaboration turned into an entire album likely to be released on April 20th. Questlove, drummer for the Roots, said that they had clicked so well while jamming with Costello in the dressing room before the show that they asked Costello to make a record. What started out as one song quickly become an album. Questlove said, “In the whole history of the Roots, I have never bragged on an album first, but I actually love this record.” He even called it “a brilliant album.”

Questlove says that the Roots are to start working with Al Green on an album and they are teaming up with comedian Amy Schumer on a special. Currently, he is teaching a course at NYU called “Classic Albums.”
