When Don Cheadle tweeted a photo of a hat with the logo for the Sleeping Giants campaign, which symbolizes an end to gender and racial oppression, Kathy Griffin responded.
“I will never forgive you for your nasty tweet the day my smear campaign started … and you have never taken a moment to apologize. You know it was a f**king smear campaign and you have never taken a moment to apologize. Some liberal you are. Yes, my memory is long my ex friend. Shame on you. I kept a list. Fear me,” she wrote ominously.
Cheadle responded confused, initially only writing “Huh?”.
She jumped back on. “Huh?” You’re a dick in real life but believe it or not I hope you never go through what I went through.” She also wrote that if it did she would be first on line to defend him, and called him a movie star phony.
Apparently all of this was about a tweet in which Cheadle slammed her for her Trump beheaded photo while defending her against a troll accusing Kathy of voting for Trump. The tweet read “She didn’t [vote for him]. She hates him. That pic though.”
Cheadle cleared things up with a seven point response, saying that he didn’t really consider Kathy to be a “friend”, they just had one friendly conversation on a plane trip. But if they had been friends and she had asked his opinion about whether she should put out a photo of herself beheading the President, he would have said “kathy for your own sake, please do NOT depict yourself holding the bloody, severed head of the president, evoking daesh, daniel pearl and every other painful disturbing memory associated with it, your first amendment rights notwithstanding.” He then uses some crying laughing emojis over the idea that he should have to apologize to her over a tweet.
It’s too bad they weren’t friends, maybe she could have warned him about that English accent in Oceans 11.
