Did Mike Epps Assault a Fellow Comic? (updated)

TMZ is reportingepps that comedian Mike Epps and some friends allegedly took part in beating down a comic, Lavar Walker, in Atlanta.  Walker  had made an instagram video about a month ago mocking the Kevin Hart/Epps “feud”  (watch it below).   The incident is alleged to have taken place on Saturday night at Atlanta’s  Uptown Comedy Club.

According to the site hiphopwired.com, Epps had asked Walker to step outside the club, and then Epps and two men who were with him began beating Walker, and slammed him on a car.  They also crushed his cell phone and threw it onto a nearby rooftop.  A witness claims that Epps was taunting him, after he was down, telling him to stop making videos about him.  Walker had to be transported to the hospital for treatment.

Although there was a surveillance camera on the premises, a spokesperson for the Uptown Comedy Club told news reporters that it had not been working properly at the time of the incident, and so there was no surveillance tape available to review the incident.

Epps has since responded to the allegations on his twitter account, claiming that the accusations are false and implying that the alleged victim is just looking for a payout.   The tweets said “Bandits never attack an empty boat, Iam blessed” and “I wanna apologize to all my fans ,for the false that’s put on me right now !”
