Held late Sunday night at the Masonic Temple, Chappelle hosted the event to celebrate the screening and upcoming release of the movie A Star Is Born, coming October 5th to theaters.
There were bands and jamming, and yes, Lady Gaga was in the house. Warner Brothers officially threw the celebration, but by all reports, Chappelle was definitely the face of the event.
Chappelle got up telling the crowd he was ready to party after his Saturday Emmy win for one of his many Netflix specials released last year. The Star reports that he also called A Star is Born the first time he’s seen himself in a “good-ass” movie.
Chappelle plays the best friend to Bradley Cooper’s character in the film.
Peter A. Wong posted some photos from the after-party as well as a video of Chappelle on stage, introducing someone, and singing some Prince.
Just a few of the people spotted at the party included Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, Daniel Kaluuya, Michael K. Williams who also took the stage at some point and Salma Hayek.
