We have good news for anyone who needs to fill the void in their lives that was created when the hit HBO Comedy series “Eastbound & Down” wrapped in November 2013. Danny McBride, who played the immortal Kenny Powers in the comedy series will return to the network to co-create and star in the brand new comedy series “Vice Principals.” Jody Hill, who co-created “Eastbound & Down” with McBride is back on board again. Eastbound executive producers David Gordon Green and Stephanie Laing and also re-joining the creative team.

“Danny McBride and Jody Hill have created a smart, rowdy and unpredictable style of comedy that we can’t get enough of,” said Michael Lombardo, president of HBO Programming. “The idea of them setting their minds on high school was irresistible.”

We couldn’t agree more. When “Eastbound and Down” debuted on HBO back in 2009 we couldn’t believe what we were watching– and each season continued to surprise audiences in the best way, right up until the final episode. We expect no less from the new series, and will be anxiously awaiting a premier date.

“HBO was the perfect creative family for ‘Eastbound & Down,’ and we’re excited to pack up the van for the next adventure,” notes McBride.
