It’s Official, Comedy Central Announces Dan Soder: Not Special

Dan Soder’s first one hour special was filmed at the Trocadero Theater in Philadelphia last year, and we’ve been excited since the day of the taping to find out when we’d be able to see it. Finally, Comedy Central has announced that Dan Soder: Not Special will air on Saturday May 21 at 11:00pm.

In the hour special Soder talks about legal weed connoisseurs, single moms and long distance relationships among other things. For those of you as anxious as we are, Comedy Central promises to release clips from the special over the next two weeks on cc.com, as well as on snapchat and on the Comedy Central app.

Dan is one of the funniest comics in New York, and this special couldn’t have been timed better, as Soder is breaking everywhere. We’ve loved watching him show off his acting chops as Mafee on Showtime’s hit drama Billions, he’s featured in the new season of Inside Amy Schumer, and you’ll see him in the upcoming film Drunk Parents with Alec Baldwin, Salma Hayek and Jim Gaffigan. Soder just released the Comedy Central digital series Used People with Michelle Wolf earlier this year. The series was so well received that Comedy Central offered him a script deal based on the series, and Soder was named Laughfest’s Funniest at the annual Gilda Radner inspired festival last summer.   2015 also marked the debut of a major radio project for Dan.  Soder’s SiriusXM radio show The Bonfire premiered last summer, along with co-host and fellow comic Big Jay Oakerson. The Bonfire airs Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm ET on Comedy Central Radio. Soder’s also a frequent guest on SiriusXM’s Bennington, and a regular on Opie with Jim Norton.

Soder’s special leads off a killer season with specials debuting later in the year from Big Jay Oakerson, Pete Davidson, Joe Derosa, Kurt Braunohler, Trevor Moore, Deon Cole and Jordan Klepper.

“Dan Soder: Not Special” is executive produced by Soder, Brian Stern, and Neal Marshall. JoAnn Grigioni and Miro Terrell are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central. Set your DVR, or better yet cancel your plans and stay home. The world premiere of Dan Soder: Not Special is a very special occasion.

Dan Soder: Not Special will air on Saturday May 21 at 11:00pm.
