Dan Soder Wins Laughfest
Dan Soder has added another championship to his name. He was named the 2015 Gilda’s LaughFest Seriously Funny Comedian. The festival held in Grand Rapids, Michigan ran from March 5th through March 15th this year. Soder took the title after a two night showcase with 9 other comedians competing. The other showcase comics included Joe DeRosa, Sean Donnelly, Jared Logan, Alingon Mitra, Sara Schaefer, Kyle Grooms, Randy Liedtke, Sheng Wang and Liza Treyger.
According to MLive, the comedians participated in two showcases with 5 stand ups appearing at each show and doing 15 minutes of material each. The audience selected Dan Soder as their favorite. He’s also a previous New York Comedy Festival Funniest Comedian winner.
Each year Gilda’s LaughFest raises money and awareness to support cancer programs at Gilda’s Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan which was named in honor of the late Gilda Radner.
