Coming Soon: The Nightmare

“The Nightmare” is the new documentary from the Cannes Film Festival award nominated director Rodney Ascher. He received great reviews for his doc “Room 237” which focused on the conspiracy theories about the possible hidden symbolism in Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining”. His latest film is being called “One of the scariest documentaries ever”. “The Nightmare” is the real life story of 8 people who suffer from sleep paralysis, which leaves a person unable to move, speak or react either while falling asleep or waking up. Ascher’s documentary reenacts what these people go through and creates the hallucinations that they experience while being affected by sleep paralysis. “The Nightmare” screened at Sundance and the Stanley Film Fest in Colorado this weekend. It opens in select theaters and On Demand on Friday, June 5th. “Welcome to the scariest place in the world – your bedroom”.
