Comedy Central Gives Go Ahead to TripTank Spinoff “Jeff and Some Aliens”

Comedy Central is bringing more animation to the channel with news today that they’re greenlighting a new animated series. Jeff and Some Aliens is not completely new, the animated short has had recurring spots on the incubator series TripTank, which showcases various animated shorts.

“We’d like to beat the trolls to the punch and be the first to say: ‘They cancelled Futurama for THIS?!,’” said executive producers and creators Sean Donnelly and Alessandro Minoli Donnelly and Minoli.

“Jeff and Some Aliens” follows Jeff, the world’s most average guy, and the three aliens sent to study him to determine whether or not humanity should be destroyed. As you might imagine, it isn’t easy having intergalatic roommates, but at least it’s never dull.

The series’ ten-episode season will premiere in 2016.
